Friday night in California
Everybody busy making plans
Henrietta's got a hot date
With a drummer from a local band

Well, she's agreed that they can meet up
When he's finished working at the gym
Henrietta's got a picture
But she doesn't think it looks like him

One night stand
All she wants is a one night romance
Take my hand
And let's pretend we're in love

I got to get out, let myself go
Sing like a cowboy, ro-de-o-do
Dance like a slave in Caligula's Rome
Baby I don't want to go home

See Henrietta's in a potentially dangerous situation
She hasn't validated the identity
of the young man she's dating
It could lead to all sorts of misdemeanours

Well, when they finally got to make love
She could tell that there was something wrong
Henrietta's little drum boy
Was playing to a different song

One night stand (One night stand)
All she wanted was one night's romance (One night's)
So, take my hand (Take my hand)
And let's pretend we're in love

I said, "One night stand" (One night stand)
That's all she wanted was one night's romance (One night's)
Take my hand (Take my hand)
And let's pretend we broke up (Ah yeah)

'Cause I got to get out, let myself go
Sing like a cowboy, ro-de-o-do
Dance like a slave in Caligula's Rome
Well, baby I don't want to go home, no I don't

Yeah, she got lucky this time didn't
realise the danger she was in
Left herself wide open
